  • Conduct workshop sessions and presentations on issues of learning and teaching.
  • Consult with departments on issues related to teaching effectiveness, faculty evaluation, and curricular reform.
  • Coordinate teaching certification program for graduate students.
  • Teach graduate courses focused on aspects of pedagogical, professional and academic career development.
  • Design and implement the annual, university-wide TA conference.
  • Coordinate campus-wide teaching symposia.
  • Direct the Lilly-East Conference on College & University Teaching.

  • Advised and assisted departments in these colleges with the preparation of TAs: Designed and facilitated discipline-specific workshops and instructional proseminars.
  • Helped faculty and TAs collect and analyze student feedback data at midterm for formative purposes, discussed ways to implement the feedback.
  • Mentored novice instructional consultants and offered training sessions for them.
  • Worked with the International Teaching Assistant (ITA) Program staff to coordinate and administer a university-wide, mandatory, and year-long preparation program for ITAs.
  • Consulted with ITAs and international faculty on issues related to college teaching, cultural sensitivity and language for instructional purposes.
  • Conducted research designed to assist in the enhancement of ITA training programs.
  • Authored a university-wide brochure that introduces parents and first-year students to the roles and responsibilities of TAs at the University of Washington.
  • Designed and conducted ongoing ITA Program evaluation.
