We are inviting graduate student applications to the HETC program for Winter 2012. The program is part of UD’s graduate program offerings and is open to all graduate students who intend to enter academic careers. The program is offered in an online environment (Sakai), supplemented with on-campus seminars. Certification is awarded upon completion of all program aspects and is included in the participant’s official transcript. Program Graduates
Graduate students complete two tracks: (1) pedagogy track with seminars on learning and pedagogy, and (2) academic career preparation track with seminars on faculty roles and academic job search. The pedagogy track has been designed to be taken concurrently with teaching appointments, typically early in the graduate program; the academic career preparation track has been designed to be taken 1-2 years prior to going on the job market. In addition, students are observed by a faculty mentor in the discipline and document their effectiveness and accomplishments as educators and scholars via a professional academic ePortfolio.
