For the past several years, the American Association of Colleges and
Universities and the Council of Graduate Schools have sponsored a program
to help universities prepare graduate students for academic roles.
More than 100 institutions are involved. The site describes the types
of projects that some universities have started in order to give graduate
students a better idea of what being a faculty member is like. The
site also provides resources for the job search.
- The Responsive Ph.D. sponsored by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation
- Carnegie classification of institutions of higher learning - groups institutions based on their degree-granting activity.
- Chronicle Careers: Employer Profiles - employers have provided institutional profiles for prospective candidates; the list is organized by state.
- Chronicle of Higher Education - electronic version subscribed to by University of Delaware Library
